About Me

I am a Master-accredited counsellor, fluent in both English and Japanese, and founder of Kisetsu Counselling. Kisetsu means “season” in Japanese – a reminder that our lives, like nature, move through constant transitions. Many of them go unrecognised. I lived, studied and worked in Japan for more than 15 years and particularly loved experiencing four distinct seasons. Each season offered unique opportunities, but also distinct challenges. My role is to walk alongside you through these changes, helping you make sense of your experiences and co-create new stories that may fit better in this season of life.

I am passionate about supporting individuals, families, and couples through challenges such as divorce, remarriage, blended families, parenting, menopause, and caring for aging parents. This might be showing up as grief, feeling stuck, uncertainty, confusion or just needing some space, time and another perspective to sort through all of your thoughts and feelings.

I am trained in narrative therapy, an approach that helps me notice your neglected stories, knowledge or skills, so that you can gain new perspectives and regain your agency to make choices that best align with your values.

Kat works from Duality and Co. on Mondays.
